What Unique Abilities Do Dendro Characters Offer?
The Dendro element in Genshin Impact has introduced a variety of unique abilities through its characters. Below is a clear breakdown of these abilities and advantages:
- Elemental Resonance: Having at least two Dendro characters in a party of four provides the Elemental Resonance: Sprawling Greenery, which increases Elemental Mastery by 50. Moreover, after triggering Burning, Quicken, or Bloom reactions, all nearby party gain 30 Elemental Mastery for 6 seconds. After triggering Aggravate, Spread, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions, they receive 20 Elemental Mastery for 6 seconds. These effects last independently.
- Dendro Elemental Reactions: Dendro has significant Elemental Reactions:
- Quicken: Applies a Quicken aura.
- Aggravate: Triggered when applying Electro to an entity with the Quicken aura, adding an Additive Base DMG Bonus to the attack that triggers this reaction.
- Spread: Similar to Aggravate, it also adds an Additive Base DMG Bonus.
- Dendro Bloom: Creates a Dendro Core that explodes after 6 seconds, dealing Dendro DMG.
- Burning: Deals Pyro DMG at intervals in a small radius around the target and applies Pyro.
- Kirara’s Abilities: Kirara can deploy a Shield of Safe Transport. She also curls up into a special express delivery box, entering the Urgent Neko Parcel state to move and fight more swiftly. In this state, she deals Dendro DMG to opponents she crashes into, which can be triggered once on each opponent every 0.5 seconds. Additionally, her movement speed, climbing speed, and jumping power are increased, but climbing stamina consumption is also elevated.
- Dendro Traveler: The Dendro Traveler is effective as an off-field Dendro damage dealer. They can act primarily as a or a second Sub-DPS character. Their main purpose is to enable Dendro reactions for the main and Sub-DPS characters. The Traveler’s Elemental Burst is particularly beneficial in this role, focusing on the Aggravate Dendro reaction with the help of Raiden to lower Elemental Recharge requirements. The Traveler’s higher Constellations unlock additional tools.
- Best Artifacts: For artifact sets:
- Deepwood Memories:
- 2-PC: Dendro DMG Bonus +15%
- 4-PC: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will decrease by 30% for 8 seconds, even if the character is not on the field.
- Gilded Dreams:
- 2-PC: Elemental Mastery +80
- 4-PC: Within 8 seconds of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character receives buffs based on the Elemental Type of other party . ATK is increased by 14% for each member with the same Elemental Type, and EM is increased by 50 for every member with a different Elemental Type.
- Deepwood Memories:
- Dendro Character Overview: Sumeru’s release has brought several Dendro characters, including Nahida, the Dendro Archon. Each character offers distinct playstyles, with some serving as powerful main DPS units while others excel as Dendro and healers. Dendro relies heavily on reactions and elemental mastery, providing dynamic playstyles. Currently, Dendro remains one of the top elements in the game’s meta.
- Meta and Character Rankings: With the vivid introduction of Dendro units in Genshin Impact, characters like Nahida stand out due to their flexibility and utility in various team compositions. Kaveh and Collei also show significant use for Dendro reactions, even if Bloom teams are not yet prevalent.
How to Build the Best Dendro Team in Genshin Impact?
Building the best Dendro team in Genshin Impact involves utilizing the strongest Dendro characters available. Below is a list of some of the top Dendro characters:
- Nahida: Nahida is undoubtedly the best Dendro character in Genshin Impact. She is an incredible unit. She has the ability to consistently apply Dendro to enemies through her Elemental Skill with no ICDs. This allows her teammates to trigger powerful reactions and generate high DPS. Nahida’s Elemental Skill allows her to mark enemies and deal Dendro damage to them. Marked enemies are linked together. If any of them receive damage from an Elemental Reaction or a Dendro Core, Nahida will damage them with Tri-Karma Purification. This deals Dendro damage and scales with her Attack and Elemental Mastery.
- Alhaitham: Alhaitham is one of the best main DPS characters in Genshin Impact. His Dendro application is one of the fastest in the game. He can trigger all the Dendro-based reactions and deals extra damage as his damage scales from his EM and ATK. Alhaitham works well in Quickbloom teams alongside Nahida, Yelan, and Kuki Shinobu. His main mechanics focus on Chisel-Light Mirrors, which infuse his attacks with Dendro damage and unleash projection attacks based on the mirrors on the field.
- Baizhu: Baizhu makes up for his low damage output by being one of the best healers in the game. His healing directly scales from his Max HP, so players don’t have to invest much while building him. Some of his best weapon options include low-rarity Catalysts like Prototype Amber and Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, making him very F2P-friendly.
- Yaoyao: Yaoyao was the first Dendro healer in Genshin Impact, which made her immensely popular upon release. She can heal her party through her Elemental Skill and Burst while applying Dendro to all nearby enemies. Yaoyao’s first constellation provides a 15% Dendro DMG bonus, a valuable buff in Dendro-based teams.
Dendro has proven itself to be one of Genshin Impact’s strongest elements since its introduction with update 3.0.
Dendro characters rank consistently highly within the tier lists of community due to their strong kits that can enable powerful elemental reactions, such as Spread and Hyperbloom.
