Why Energy Recharge is Your Team’s Best Friend

In Genshin Impact, flashy damage numbers matter. Big Crits and massive elemental reactions are exciting. Artifacts and weapons that boost attack and Crit stats help characters hit harder. But Energy Recharge (ER) provides tremendous value for the entire team. ER is the hidden hero that keeps everything working smoothly.

Energy Recharge 101: Faster Bursts, Stronger Team

So, what is Energy Recharge? Simply put, more ER on a character means faster Elemental Burst charge time. Quicker bursts lead to more frequent usage in fights! ER amplifies energy gained from elemental particles and orbs. It’s like a turbocharger for your Burst.

Why is this crucial? Genshin Impact is not a solo act. You manage a team of four. You switch between characters to create elemental reactions and maximize damage. Elemental Bursts unlock a character’s potential, providing buffs, damage, or healing. Cycling through bursts efficiently controls the battlefield and defeats foes fast.

Character-Specific Energy Recharge Needs: Who Needs What?

Not every character needs the same Energy Recharge. Some are energy-hungry, while others are efficient. Here’s a breakdown of ER needs for popular characters:

Raiden Shogun

Raiden Shogun thrives on Energy Recharge. Aim for 200-250% ER, especially with her weapons, Engulfing Lightning or The Catch. Common mistakes? Not meeting those ER targets.

  • Weapon Matters: Engulfing Lightning and The Catch boost ER. You can focus more on other stats in your artifacts. If your weapon doesn’t boost ER, prepare to farm those ER substats!
  • Emblem of Severed Fate: This artifact set is made for Raiden. It boosts ER and Burst damage—a win-win!
  • Constellations: Raiden’s C1 offers extra ive energy generation, easing ER needs.
  • Substat Priorities: Chase Crit Damage, Crit Rate, and Attack % on artifacts. Elemental Mastery (EM) can also be useful.

Xiangling

Xiangling needs a hefty amount of ER to keep her burst, Pyronado, consistently spinning. We’re talking about 220% ER or higher. She’s definitely energy-hungry.

  • Team Dependency: Pair Xiangling with Pyro characters or energy batteries like Raiden Shogun or Bennett. This way, you can manage with less ER.
  • Weapon Choices: Favonius Lance generates extra energy for the team if Xiangling struggles.
  • Energy Funneling: Bennett is great for energy generation. Funneling energy from Bennett to Xiangling can ease her ER needs.
  • ER Ranges:
    • Minimum: 200% ER
    • Recommended: 220%+ ER for general play.
    • Raiden National/Rational Teams: 180-200% ER with energy funneling is effective.
    • Solo Pyro/No Bennett: Prepare for 260-270% ER. Yes, really.
  • Sands Choice: If your weapon has ER as a secondary stat, an EM or ATK% Sands may suffice. Otherwise, an ER Sands may be needed.

Kazuha

Kazuha requires a decent amount of ER to his bursting abilities. Aim for 180% to 220% ER. This is especially true without weapon ives or teammates generating energy.

Xiao

Xiao prefers a modest 20-40% ER from substats. While ER doesn’t boost his damage directly, having Burst available is important for his playstyle.

  • Faruzan C6: C6 Faruzan significantly reduces Xiao’s ER needs, allowing for traditional Xiao teams.
  • ER Range with Battery: A good battery lets Xiao function within the 120-130% ER range comfortably.

Tighnari

Tighnari enjoys being energy-efficient. Pair him with energy-generating teammates like Kazuha or Fischl, or other Dendro characters like Collei, and target around 130-140% ER. Easy as pie.

Qiqi

Qiqi needs ER to keep her healing burst available. Her recommended weapon, Skyward Sword , has an ER secondary stat. Stacking ER lets her use her Skill and Burst often for healing.

Faruzan

Faruzan requires significant ER to Anemo DPS consistently. Prepare for at least 220% ER with a Favonius weapon, or even more without one.

  • High ER Demands: Without a Favonius weapon, you might push 280% ER.

Bennett

Bennett also benefits from Energy Recharge. Aim for around 200-250% ER to keep bursts up.

  • Solo Pyro vs. Duo Pyro: If Bennett is the only Pyro, push that ER closer to 250%. With another Pyro like Xiangling, ease back to about 180-200% ER.
  • Favonius Weapon Advantage: Using a Favonius Sword helps generate extra energy and reduces personal ER needs.

Dehya

Dehya struggles with energy generation. Prioritize artifact sets like Emblem of Severed Fate for Energy Recharge. She needs energy to use her Burst and deal damage.

Dendro Traveler

Dendro Traveler has a unique mechanic: every hit from their Skill grants 3.5 energy. This energy gain isn’t influenced by Energy Recharge or the number of enemies hit. So, they don’t require as much ER compared to others.

Yelan

Yelan needs a lot of energy to keep her burst available. Without battery or another Hydro teammate, target around 225% ER or more.

Exceptions to the Rule: When Energy Recharge Takes a Backseat

Mona

Mona doesn’t need Energy Recharge in Genius Invokation TCG. Her Elemental Burst in the card game doesn’t consume energy! It’s a unique exception.

Gearing Up for Energy: Artifacts and Weapons

How do you achieve Energy Recharge? Genshin provides options. Aim for 200% ER on characters. Achieve this through:

  • Weapons: Many swords and polearms have ER as a secondary stat. Weapons like Skyward Sword and Favonius weapons excel.
  • Artifacts: Equip an Energy Recharge Sands as the main artifact stat, combined with looking for ER as a substat on all artifacts. Artifact farming can be an adventure due to random substats!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Comps and Funneling

A solid team composition plays a key role in maximizing your Energy Recharge efficiency during battles. Consider synergy between characters closely to ensure optimal performance.

Energy plays a huge role in team management. Characters act as “batteries.” They generate extra energy. This reduces the ER needs of the team. Raiden Shogun, Fischl, and Bennett are great examples of energy batteries.

Energy funneling involves switching to a character who needs energy. They catch particles from another character’s skill. Bennett can funnel energy to Xiangling effectively. Genshin Impact’s card game explains energy. The core idea is similar across all aspects of the game.

Elemental Mastery: The Reaction Amplifier (Briefly Mention)

Next, let’s discuss Elemental Mastery (EM). EM boosts the damage of elemental reactions. Reactions like Vaporize, Melt, and Electro-Charged benefit from EM. If your team focuses on reactions, EM is essential. Energy Recharge assists in using bursts for reactions. EM makes those reactions stronger. They complement each other in team compositions.

General ER Guideline for s

Aiming for about 200% Energy Recharge for characters is good in many setups. This amount ensures burst uptime. Your s will help main DPS. They keep elemental reactions flowing properly. Adjust based on character and energy generation.

That’s it! Energy Recharge may not appear exciting, but it is crucial. It keeps the Genshin machine running well. Master ER management to unlock your teams’ potential. This helps conquer the Spiral Abyss. Now go and burst off cooldown!
