How to Find Vermeer’s Paintbrushes in Genshin Impact?

Vermeer’s Paintbrushes and Paint Locations are integral to completing the Luhua Landscape quest in Genshin Impact. The objective is to “Look for Vermeer’s paintbrushes and paints,” but it’s worth noting that there are only two specific locations where this quest item spawns.

Locations

  • First Location: A little bit east of the western Teleport Waypoint in Luhua Pool. Look for some books on a cliff behind a bush. Players can find the brush hidden behind an observation area overlooking the lake.
  • Second Location: Northwest of the eastern Teleport Waypoint in Luhua Pool, in a corner by some walls near a bag.

To collect the first paintbrush and paint, start from the western Teleport Waypoint in Luhua Pool. Locate a tree and a rock east of that waypoint, proceed past it, and stop at the edge of the cliff. As players do the quest, they will see a yellow aura at these locations, allowing them to interact with them (look for an “Investigate” prompt).

Next, use the eastern Teleport Waypoint in Luhua Pool and head northwest. Go all the way past the brazier to find another area with some books and bags near the cliff. The final paintbrush and paint can be collected in the corner next to one of the bags.

After Collecting

Once both items are collected, speak with Vermeer at the ruins south of Luhua Pool. Vermeer, an artist, is looking for inspirational material nearby but has hit a snag. He will task players with searching for supplies that he left nearby. Check the quest items to view his paintings for guidance.

Both collection locations have a view of the ruins. To proceed, head to the Teleport Waypoint directly to the north and follow the hill to find the first set of supplies. The second set is located to the east, right next to the other Luhua Pool Teleport Waypoint.

After returning to Vermeer, he will provide two sketches that can be viewed in the Quest Items tab of the inventory. These sketches will give a better idea of where the supplies are. For reference:

  • Paint #1: Located slightly above the second “O” at Luhua Pool.
  • Paint #2: Located near the warp stone to the left of the “Luhua Pool” text on the map.

Vermeer is an open-world NPC in Liyue. Before completing the World Quest Luhua Landscape, he can be found southwest of Luhua Pool, positioned between two giant statues just above the tide pools. After completing the quest, he will move to the northeast of the pool, by the ruins near a Teleport Waypoint.

Exploring Vermeer: The Connection Between Paintings and Locations

View of Delft (Dutch: Zicht op Delft) is an oil painting by Johannes Vermeer, painted c. 1659–1661. The painting of the Dutch artist’s hometown is among his best known. It is one of three known paintings of Delft by Vermeer, along with The Little Street and the lost painting House Standing in Delft, and his only cityscape.

The landscape was painted from an elevated position to the southeast of Delft, possibly the upper floor of the Mechelen tavern where the artist’s studio was located. To the very right of the painting is a medieval brick building called the Rotterdam Gate, in front of which are two herring busses. Additionally, it is one of two gates on Delft’s south side, the other being the Schiedam Gate, shown in the middle of the composition.

Vermeer illuminated the Nieuwe Kerk to show for the House of Orange. From 1648–1650, William II of Orange and the States General argued over whether to reduce the country’s military budget. After William II died and the States General assumed power, people who wanted to show for the House of Orange commissioned artwork of William of Orange’s tomb, which was housed in the Nieuwe Kerk.

Notably, Vermeer is buried at the Oude Kerk, which was built around 1246, making it Delft’s oldest parish church. The painting features the spire of the Nieuwe Kerk, where Vermeer was baptized at one to two weeks old, and where his mother and elder sister were buried.

The most consistent candidate for the location of the scene of Vermeer’s Little Street has been the Voldersgracht, a narrow street that runs next to a canal in the center of Delft, where Vermeer was born. Although some art historians argue that despite the scene’s realistic appearance, it could be a distillation of typical architectural elements gathered within the privacy of the artist’s studio.

Dr. Frans Grijzenhout argues that the setting for the painting is on Vlamingstraat in Delft, where houses 40–42 now stand. His conclusion is based on measurements he has found in the Ledger of the dredging of canals in the town of Delft. However, Philip Stean examined Grijzenhout’s hypothesis and found a number of inconsistencies, ing the Voldersgracht as the more likely location.

Moreover, Vermeer seems to have taken various details from various houses and combined them, as if using tie-rods and mortar to create an ‘actual’ streetscape. For example, the front doorway, in which one of the women sits sewing, is not centered but is offset to the left.

In conclusion, the painting is an elegy for a moment that—unless Vermeer had captured it—would have slipped away forever. It depicts women busy with their chores, children entranced by their game, and clouds filtering the sunlight.

Furthermore, new research in the archives has made it possible to pinpoint the exact location of the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer’s world-famous Little Street, painted around 1658. Also known as View of Houses in Delft, this is the only known outdoor scene by Vermeer of this type: a quiet street with only a few figures.

Vermeer’s meticulously painted view shows his hometown, seen from the south, under a cloudy blue sky. He utilizes a slightly elevated vantage point and small dapples of lead white and yellow paint to create the effect of sunlight. This technique calls attention to some of the most important and recognizable monuments of the city, including its fortifications and the tower of the Nieuwe Kerk.

The Significance of Vermeer’s Artistry in Genshin Impact

Vermeer’s Paintbrushes: Significance in Genshin Impact

Vermeer’s Paintbrushes is a Quest Item obtained during the World Quest Luhua Landscape. A side quest called Luhua Landscape has you looking for paintbrushes and paint in Genshin Impact. First things first, the Look for Vermeer’s paintbrushes and paintbrushes guide tasks you with traveling to Luhua Pool.

The world of Teyvat is filled with mysteries and wonders, and these will likely keep you engaged the more you progress in Genshin Impact. One of those involves Vermeer and his paintings. It’ll eventually lead you on a quest to find Strange Rocks to solve the riddle in Luhua Pool.

Upon talking to Vermeer, you learn that he lost two of his paintbrushes. He gives you two paintings that act as clues. The location of the first painting is actually very close to the teleport area mentioned above. However, the second painting is a bit tougher because of the perspective being used. It’s located on the eastern bank of Luhua Pool near the teleporter in the ruins.

After collecting the paintings, you need to return to Vermeer, who’ll give you a Strange Rock. You still need to find another Strange Rock nearby. Roam around the watery paddies in Luhua Pool to find some glittering markers. Investigate these, and you should find the second Strange Rock.

Once you’ve found the two Strange Rocks, climb atop the giant warrior statues. Insert the Strange Rocks inside the helms of the two statues. This will allow you to activate the switch near Vermeer. It’s Geo-based, so make sure you have a character like Noelle (obtained from a Wish microtransaction) to assist you.
