Sakura in Genshin Impact: A Traveler’s Guide to Blossoms, Boughs, and Sacred Trees

Welcome, Traveler! You are now in Inazuma, home to amazing Sakura trees. “Sakura” means “cherry blossom” in Japanese. These flowers symbolize spring, new beginnings, and the fleeting nature of life. Quite meaningful.

Genshin Impact shows off these trees in great detail. Different types of Sakura have unique uses and traits. Let’s explore Thunder Sakura, Sacred Sakura, and the lovely Sakura Blooms.

Thunder Sakura: Your Shockingly Useful Tree

First, we have Thunder Sakura. These are special trees. They shine with Electro energy and help you navigate Inazuma’s electric world.

Where to Find Them?

Finding Thunder Sakura is simple. There are five on Kannazuka island. From Kujou Encampment’s north tip, follow the western shoreline to Tatarasuna. You’ll easily spot three of them. They’re quite visible.

How Many Are We Talking?

There are five notable Thunder Sakura across Kannazuka. You will see them while you explore.

Quest Connections?

So, why find them? The Sakura Arborism quest requires these trees. You can earn sixty Primogems as a reward for discovering them. It’s a nice detour!

What Do They Actually DO?

Thunder Sakura Boughs give you Electrograna. Need to go through a Thunder Barrier or grab an Electroculus? Touch an active Thunder Sakura Bough. You’ll get a nice power-up!

Some Boughs may not work until you fix them. You will need to deal with enemies or solve a puzzle. They need some care.

Purifying Thunder Sakura Roots?

Things deepen with cleansing. If you’re on Inazuma’s story quests, you might need to purify both Thunder Sakura and Sacred Sakura roots. This often involves diving into Mt. Yougou’s Depths after lifting a barrier. Expect some condensed filth!

Turning Them OFF? (Yes, Really)

You can actually turn off a Thunder Sakura if you wish. If you see blue energy pools near the tree, use Elemental Sight. Stand there to gather energy. Dash out quickly when charged. Clear all pools, and you’ll “restore” the tree. Why? Well, why not?

Sacred Sakura: The Grand Dame of Narukami Shrine

Now, let’s focus on the Sacred Sakura. It is Inazuma’s VIP tree. This magnificent tree represents the Electro Archon’s power and is vital to Narukami Shrine.

Location, Location, Location!

You won’t miss it. The Sacred Sakura Tree grows on Mt. Yougou at the Grand Narukami Shrine. Follow the path up; it is a climb, but worth it.

Unlock the Favor!

To access the Sacred Sakura’s “Favor,” reach Adventure Rank 30 and finish the Ritou Escape Plan quest. Get grinding if you haven’t yet.

Leveling Up Your Favor? It’s an Offering Thing.

Increase your Sacred Sakura’s Favor level by offering Electro Sigils. You’ll need batches of 25 to level up. To max at level 50, gather 1,250 Sigils. Start collecting!

Electro Sigils: Where Do They Grow? (Not on Trees, Sadly)

Electro Sigils work like currency in Inazuma. You can find them by:

  • Opening Chests: All chests drop Electro Sigils. Rarer ones give more.
  • Statue Upgrades: Level up Electro Statues for rewards.
  • One-Time Domains: Completing these domains earns Sigils.
  • Hidden Exploration Objectives: Look for unmarked tasks around Inazuma, like Gazing Three Thousand Miles Away .

So, explore and find Sigils. They’re your reward for visiting.

Rewards? Because Free Stuff is Nice.

Leveling the Sacred Sakura’s Favor earns you rewards:

  • Boosted Electrogranum: Leveling increases strength, helping you through tougher barriers.
  • “Inazuma: The Islands of Thunder and Eternity – Series I” Achievement: Reach max level for this achievement, showing your dedication.
  • Inazuma Souvenir Shop Access: Level 50 opens a shop for various items. Spend your hard-earned Electro Sigils!

Sakura Bloom: Those Pretty Pink Petals You Gotta Zap

Finally, let’s talk about Sakura Blooms. These charming flowers are beautiful and do shock you.

Bloom Hotspots?

Sakura Blooms grow around Narukami Island. They especially gather around the Grand Narukami Shrine. Makes sense near a sacred place! For exact spots, check out this guide.

Collecting 101: Electro-Shock Therapy for Flowers

Saw some pink petals? Don’t rush to pick them. Genshin’s flowers need a jolt. Hit them with an Electro attack or walk over them with Electrograna. Give them a shock to collect them!

Respawn Time: Patience, Grasshopper

If you picked all the blooms, wait. They respawn 48 hours after collecting them. Mark it down!

Shop-able? Nope.

Don’t expect to find Sakura Blooms in shops. You must find them in nature.

Sakura: More Than Just Pretty Pixels

Let’s appreciate Sakura beyond Genshin and into real life.

What’s in a Name? (Sakura = Cherry Blossom)

Sakura (桜) is Japanese for “cherry blossom.” It symbolizes spring, renewal, and life’s cycles.

Edible Flowers? Surprisingly, Yes!

You can eat some Sakura flowers! They can be pretty decoration for pastries. They can also be preserved in salt for eating. Genshin lacks a Sakura dessert recipe, though!

Want to Grow Your Own? (Real-World Edition)

Want a cherry blossom tree at home? You can buy them online! Choose your type and have them shipped to your home.

Growing Conditions: A Bit Fussy

If you want to grow one, do some homework. Talk to a nursery and find a spot that gets sun and has rich soil for your tree.

Sakura Etiquette: Treat Them Nicely!

Real cherry trees are fragile. Be kind when visiting. Don’t sit on roots, hang items on branches, touch petals, or shake the tree.

Questing with Sakura: A Few Noteworthy Mentions

Sakura connects with quests in Genshin. Some quests related to Sakura are:

  • Ritou Road: Unlock after Ritou Escape Plan . Enjoy more Inazuma exploration.
  • Tatara Tales:A week-long quest.
  • series with daily Primogem rewards! Help clear Balethunder from Mikage Furnace. Total of 220 Primogems over 7 days. Not bad for helping out. Unlocked after completingTatara Tales: The Last Act.
  • Seirai Stormchasers: Another World Quest Series, this takes you on a storm-chasing adventure.
  • Orobashi’s Legacy: Complete this quest to unlock Formation Estate domain. Domains equal loot.

Sakura Sightings Beyond Genshin (Because Why Not?)

Sakura love is not limited to Genshin. Other games show some Sakura appreciation too:

  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: Defeat Genichiro Ashina, give the Sakura Droplet to Kuro at Ashina Castle, and gain extra Resurrective Power. Sakura power-up!
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure: Sakura flowers are in Merry Meadow, unlocked after the Curious Caverns quest. Even Hello Kitty likes Sakura.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: To get the Rubber Armor, conquer the “Trial of Thunder” Shrine Quest at Thundra Plateau. Thunder and rubber? Zelda has its logic.

Random Sakura-ish Facts to Ponder

  • Inazuma (稲妻) means “lightning.” Fitting for a region with Thunder Sakura, right?
  • Ei, the Electro Archon, and the Sacred Sakura connect deeply. The tree represents her power. It serves as her leafy, electric power battery.

So there you have it, your guide to all things Sakura in Genshin Impact and some real-world Sakura trivia. Go forth, explore Inazuma, collect those blooms, level up the Sacred Sakura, and maybe, try not to electrocute yourself. Happy blossoming, Traveler!
