Unleashing the Arrow Barrage: A Deep Dive into Amos’ Bow and its Ideal Bearers in Genshin Impact

So, you got Amos’ Bow in Genshin Impact. Congrats! You’ve got a weapon that looks like it belongs to an Elven archer. However, before you equip it on any bow , we should discuss who can truly make this legendary bow shine. Some characters may be better off with less mythical options.

The Archer’s Arsenal: Characters Who Click with Amos’ Bow

Amos’ Bow boosts Normal and Charged Attack damage. There’s a solid 12% increase right off the bat. It scales up with refinements. Arrows fired get an 8% boost for every 0.1 seconds they stay in the air, stacking up to five times. That’s huge damage potential. But who can unlock it?

Ganyu: The Cryo Queen and Her (Technically Not-So-Signature Anymore) Bow

First, Ganyu. Amos’ Bow used to be her best weapon. People often said, “Ganyu’s best weapon is Amos’ Bow.” It’s true. The bow’s ive ability works well with her Frostflake Arrows. These charged shots travel far, getting the damage bonuses as they fly.

However, the meta changes quickly. While Amos’ Bow remains strong for Ganyu, it is not the only option. Weapons like Aqua Simulacra or craftable choices such as Prototype Crescent and Hamayumi might outshine it in certain scenarios. Still, if you have an unused Amos’ Bow, Ganyu is a great choice.

Tighnari: The Forest Ranger’s Reliable Tool

Next is Tighnari, the Forest Watcher from Sumeru. Is Amos’ Bow good on him? Yes, very much so. Tighnari and Ganyu share a playstyle with charged attacks. His Clusterbloom Arrows work well with Amos’ ive damage buff due to their travel time.

Although Hunter’s Path is his top-tier weapon, Amos’ Bow is a solid alternative. It fits his Charged Attack playstyle, even though he enjoys Elemental Mastery and Crit stats too. Think of Amos’ Bow as a reliable upgrade if Hunter’s Path is unavailable. Plus, it looks stylish.

Yoimiya: Fireworks and…Arrows?

Now let’s discuss Yoimiya, the Summer Festival queen. Amos’ Bow gives her a solid ATK boost. We all know she loves ATK, but it’s not her ideal weapon. Yoimiya’s strength is rapid-fire Normal Attacks rather than Charged Attacks. While the ATK and substat are useful, her playstyle doesn’t fully utilize the ive.

Yoimiya usually prefers weapons like Rust. Rust’s normal attack damage upgrade often sures the overall buffs from Amos’ Bow for her style. Skyward Harp is another strong choice for Yoimiya, enhancing her Crit Rate and providing steady damage boosts.

Venti: The Anemo Archon’s…Slightly Less Ideal Option

Venti can use Amos’ Bow technically. As a 5-star weapon, it boosts his Attack stat. But Amos’ ive isn’t optimal for him. Venti mainly deals damage through his Elemental Burst. He likes weapons that boost Energy Recharge or Elemental Skill/Burst damage instead.

He often fares better with a 4-star weapon like The Stringless. The Stringless improves Elemental Mastery and boosts Elemental Skill/Burst damage better than Amos’ Bow does. It’s more of a basic stat boost for Venti rather than an ideal weapon.

Yelan: Hydro with a Hidden Archer Side

Yelan, the versatile Hydro , makes decent use of Amos’ Bow. While she primarily excels in off-field Hydro application, her Charged Attacks can deliver solid hits too. Amos’ Bow boosts both Normal and Charged Attack damage, which benefits her playstyle.

The bow’s range also suits Yelan’s flexible approach, allowing her to deliver damage from afar without always being up close. It’s not her top pick, but Amos’ Bow gives Yelan a respectable damage boost, especially with more frequent Charged Attacks.

Kujou Sara: Electro and Charged Shot Specialist

Kujou Sara, loyal er of the Raiden Shogun, is another surprising of Amos’ Bow. While she’s known for ATK buffs through her Elemental Skill, Sara capitalizes on fully charged shots as well. Amos’ Bow excels for her if you aim for a damage-oriented build.

Weapons focusing on Normal Attacks like Rust fit less for Sara. Amos’ Bow, emphasizing Charged Attacks and long-range damage, works well with her skills while letting her offer Electro-infused arrows from afar.

Collei: The Verdant Child of the Forest

Collei, yet another Dendro archer from Sumeru, benefits from Amos’ Bow if focusing on damage. If you want “the absolute best” for her, as some say, Amos’ Bow can be top-tier. Her Charged Attacks can leverage the bow’s ive to deal significant damage in reaction teams.

Shenhe: Cryo with a Polearm…Wait, Bow?

Now we mention Shenhe somewhat ironically. The brief states Shenhe would use “”While Calamity Queller is best used by Shenhe…””. This seems slightly misleading as Shenhe primarily wields Polearms. Amos’ Bow isn’t usually recommended for her at all.

Her kit focuses on buffing Cryo damage and does not rely on bow attacks. This mention is likely an error or niche suggestion, but for typical builds, stick to Polearms.

Archers to Avoid: Characters Amos’ Bow Isn’t Ideal For

Not every archer can wield Amos’ Bow effectively. Some characters don’t mesh with its ive or prefer different weapons boosting other stats. Let’s look at a few examples.

Childe/Tartaglia: Hydro Swordsman, Not a Bow Main

Childe, or Tartaglia as some call him, exemplifies a character not benefiting from Amos’ Bow’s ive. He may start as a bow , but his main damage comes from his Elemental Skill, transforming it into Hydro blades. Amos’ Bow’s ive doesn’t apply in melee stance.

“This means it doesn’t work on Childe’s E,” as the saying goes. Weapons boosting Elemental Skill damage are far more effective.

Chasca (Presumably, Yae Miko?): Kitsune with a Different Kind of “Charged Attack”

The brief mentions “Chasca” linked to Amos’ Bow and Charged Attacks issues. Likely, this is a typo for Yae Miko. While Yae Miko uses Catalysts, the note about Charged ATK DMG implies her turrets too. The actual issue isn’t with Amos’ Bow (since Yae Miko doesn’t use bows), but the general principle applies.

Abilities triggered by Charged Attacks do not gain buffs from Charged Attack damage increases. For Yae Miko, her turret strike damage operates separately from her Charged Attack damage.

Bennett: Supreme, Damage Dealer…Not So Much

Bennett, the unlucky adventurer and premier character, generally doesn’t benefit

Bennett is a good choice for Amos’ Bow. You can build him as a damage dealer, but that is unusual. His role is primarily a healer and ATK buffer. His damage output is less important. Therefore, using a 5-star weapon like Amos’ Bow on him is not recommended. The brief states that refining this weapon may not be wise.

Refinement Considerations: To Refine or Not to Refine?

The classic Genshin Impact question: refine or diversify? For Amos’ Bow, the decision hinges on your roster and luck with weapon pulls. If you have characters like Ganyu and Tighnari, having multiple Amos’ Bows can help. “Giving one to each of them is sound advice,” the brief notes.

If you only have one main for Amos’ Bow, refining it makes sense if you get duplicates. Refining will enhance its ive damage bonus. This boosts Charged and Normal Attack damage. If Ganyu is your focus and her go-to weapon is Amos’ Bow, refining can provide a noticeable increase.

Amos’ Bow Stats: The Numbers Game

Let’s look at the numbers. At max level, Amos’ Bow has a Base Attack of 608. This is strong for a bow. The secondary stat, ATK%, reaches 49.6% when maxed. “Equipping Yoimiya increases her Base Attack from 46 to 608 and boosts Attack by 10.8 to 49.6 percent, depending on her level,” the brief explains, though these ranges are not specific to her.

The takeaway is that Amos’ Bow has a high Base Attack and substantial ATK% substat. “The base attack is 608, so it totals around 803. The substat Atk% is 49.6. When multiplied by the base attack, it results in 909,” this simple calculation showcases its strong ATK potential.

Acquiring the Elven Artifact: How to Obtain Amos’ Bow

How to obtain this bow? Amos’ Bow is part of the Standard Banner. It can drop from “Wanderlust Invocation” anytime. “There is a 1/15 chance to pull Amos’ Bow from your standard banner.” This makes acquiring it based on luck if targeting it directly.

Amos’ Bow was also featured twice on the Epitome Invocation banner, the weapon banner. “It appeared once with Venti and once with Ganyu.” Your chances of obtaining it increase during these featured banners. Watch for update announcements in Genshin Impact to see if Amos’ Bow appears on future banners.

In summary, Amos’ Bow enhances Normal and Charged Attack damage. It is best for characters like Ganyu and Tighnari who can leverage its ive. While it works decently for others like Yoimiya or Yelan, it serves niche roles for Kujou Sara and Collei. It is less effective for characters that don’t utilize bow attacks. Knowing your characters’ kits is crucial to deciding if Amos’ Bow fits your strategy.
