His father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery, while his mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. His childhood was marked by strict discipline, as he recalls being placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds when he was insolent.
Having himself frozen in 1967, Dr. Evil wakes up in the late 1990s. Confusingly, his right arm is slightly older than the left due to the freezing process. He is determined to hold the world ransom with a powerful laser that can deliver a nuclear warhead to the planet’s core, demanding one million dollars, though he may need to adjust for inflation after such a long time.
Dr. Evil’s relationship with his son, Scott, is complicated. After being frozen for thirty years, Dr. Evil meets Scott for the first time and expresses his desire for him to take over the family business. However, Scott’s aspirations to become a veterinarian or work in a petting zoo— which he insists would not even be an EVIL petting zoo— leave Dr. Evil questioning if Scott is truly his son.
In the “Austin Powers” franchise, Dr. Evil is portrayed as a classic, over-the-top villain with a deep-seated desire for world domination. He heavily parodies the stereotypical James Bond antagonist, particularly Ernst Stavro Blofeld. - Sadly, because of ‘feline complications to the reanimation process’, Mr. Bigglesworth is now completely hairless.
- Technically, we can’t extrapolate this to cats since the loss of fur was from ‘feline complications’.
- Indeed, Austin Powers didn’t lose any hair (or chest hair) in his cryogenic chamber.
- However, in real life, hair and fur are essentially the same thing; the fur would likely be patchy rather than completely gone.
- Overall, cryogenic freezing doesn’t work (yet), and it might be more likely to grow hair/fur.
- After unfreezing, Mr. Bigglesworth is played by a Sphynx cat, which has longer faces (known as dolichocephalic).
- If you look at a photo side-by-side, the reanimation process must have lengthened the muzzle, elongated the nose, altered the shape of the ears, and made the face less rounded.
- Eye color seems to be blue in both, so that detail appears consistent.
